Plans & usage

For admins · ~5 min read · Last reviewed 22 July 2026

SeoKestrel has three plans — Starter, Growth, and Agency — and, unusually for this industry, the honest version of what a limit currently means: the meters measure, they do not yet block. This page covers what is metered, where to read the gauges, and what actually happens at a limit.

What each plan meters

Active clients51550
Auto-tracked KPIs25100500
Pages crawled per month50,000250,0001,000,000

Clients and auto-tracked KPIs are measured live from the current state. Crawled pages accumulate through the month in a usage ledger fed daily from the SeoSwift crawler’s reported usage, per client, so a client re-mapped to a different crawl site mid-month is not double-counted.

Where to see usage

Settings → Billing (admin-only) shows the current plan, seat count, status, and renewal date, and the Usage this month card with all three meters as used-of-limit figures. Its own caption states the policy exactly: “Advisory only — usage vs your plan’s limits; nothing is enforced yet.”

What happens at a limit

  • Today: nothing blocks. The meters warn; creating a client, auto-tracking a KPI, or crawling past the page budget still works.
  • The platform does have an enforcement switch, off by default and controlled by the operator. If it is turned on, over-limit actions are declined with a clear message naming the meter — and the check fails open: a quota error can never take a working feature down.
  • Separately from SeoKestrel’s meters, the SeoSwift crawler applies its own plan limits: connecting a new site during client setup can be declined on the crawler side until you have headroom. Nothing breaks — the connection stays retryable; see Adding clients.

Billing details

  • Billing is invoice-based. In the app’s own words: “Invoices are issued in EUR. We do not store card details — billing is invoice-based.”
  • Admins maintain the billing contact on the same page: company name, billing email, and VAT ID.
  • No prices appear in the app; commercial terms live in your invoice and agreement.

FAQ

Where do I see what my plan costs?
Not in the app. Billing is invoice-based: the app shows your plan and its limits, and your invoice and agreement carry the commercial terms.
What happens if I go over a limit?
Today, nothing blocks — the meters are advisory and the billing page says so in as many words. The one place a limit already bites is the site crawler, whose connection can be declined until you have headroom; see Adding clients.
How do I change plans?
There is no self-serve plan switch — the billing tab displays the plan; it does not change it. Plan changes go through your invoice relationship.
Why did my crawled-pages meter jump mid-month?
The pages meter accumulates from the crawler’s reported usage, refreshed by a daily rollup — a big crawl finishing yesterday lands on the meter today. Clients count against the meter individually, so one crawl-heavy client can move the agency total.
