Sign-up & sign-in

For everyone · ~3 min read · Last reviewed 22 July 2026

Three doors, one building. Pick whichever you’ll actually remember — magic links are like passwords, except the part where you remember anything.

Ways to sign in

  • Magic link — enter your email, click the link we send you. No password exists, so no password can leak.
  • Password — classic. Set one via Forgot password? on the sign-in page (it doubles as Set password); every new password is screened against known breached-password lists.
  • Google sign-in — uses your Google account for identity only (name and email). Signing in does not give SeoKestrel access to your Search Console — that is a separate, deliberate step described in Connecting data.

Steps — creating an account yourself

  1. Go to seokestrel.com and open the Sign up tab.
  2. Enter your full name and email, and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (product updates are optional).
  3. Choose Sign up with magic link — or Sign up with Google.
  4. SeoKestrel is currently invitation-only: a self-service sign-up may land on a Request received screen while it waits in the review queue. You get an email the moment it is approved.

Steps — first sign-in after an invite

  1. Go to seokestrel.com and choose Sign in.
  2. Enter the email address your admin invited (the same one your invitation email arrived at). Your account already exists and is waiting — even if the invitation email went missing, signing in with that address just works.
  3. Pick magic link, or use Google sign-in if it is a Google-backed address.
  4. You land in the client workspace(s) you were given access to.

Good to know

  • Too many wrong passwords locks the account — five failed attempts and it locks for 15 minutes. The locked screen offers Unlock via email, which is just a magic link wearing a stern expression.
  • API keys — programmatic access uses personal keys from Settings → API keys. Each key is shown once at creation and can be revoked at any time; treat them like passwords.

FAQ

I signed in with Google — why does Search Console ask for permission again later?
By design. Sign-in uses only your basic profile. Search Console access is requested separately, with a read-only scope, when you connect it — least privilege at the front door.
How do I get a password if I signed up with a magic link?
Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page — it doubles as Set password. Enter your email, follow the link, choose a password. Magic links keep working alongside it.
I signed up but I’m stuck on a “Request received” screen.
SeoKestrel is currently invitation-only, so self-service sign-ups wait in a review queue. You will get an email as soon as your request is approved — invited accounts skip the queue.
Can I change how I sign in later?
Yes. The account is your email address; magic link, password, and Google all open the same account.
